We appreciate you choosing Long Lake Marina. Please make note of the following Marina Rules and Regulations. These rules have been created to ensure that all renters, boat owners, and their guests enjoy a safe and pleasant experience.

Accidents/Mishaps

Any accident or mishap, including damage to your own vessel, another vessel, or marina property (no matter how minor or insignificant) must be reported immediately to the marina office and all other affected parties.

Alcoholic Beverages

Maine law prohibits operation of any watercraft, including motorized and non-motorized watercraft as well as canoes and kayaks, while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs. No one under 21 years of age will be allowed to possess or consume alcoholic beverages on the premises. Intoxication or loud and disorderly behavior will not be tolerated on Long Lake Marina property (including our rentals).

Bathrooms

Bathroom and shower facilities are provided for the use of Long Lake Marina customers and their guests. Please be considerate in leaving them clean. Notify the office of any condition that needs attention.

Boat Maintenance

It is the owner’s responsibility to take all precautions against the accidental sinking of their boat by making sure that bilge pumps are in working order or bailing the boat regularly during and after heavy rains. Boat owners shall be alert to any oil sheen on the water and/or evidence of fuel leaks from their boat or adjacent vessels and should report such events to the office immediately. Boat owners should regularly check their boat’s mechanical systems for fuel leaks and/or accumulation of fuel or other hazardous materials in bilges. When washing your boat, you must use environmentally friendly phosphate-free and biodegradable products.

Boat Operation

State of Maine boat navigation and road rules are enforced on marina property. Children: Small children are not allowed on the docks unless escorted by an adult. It is recommended that small children wear life jackets on the docks at all times.

Cigarettes/Cigars/Tobacco/Marajuana

Long Lake Marina is a NON-SMOKING marina. Smoking is a safety hazard and is not allowed on the marina facilities or on customer boats when on the docks. Do not throw or dispose of cigarette/cigar butts or chewing tobacco on Long Lake Marina grounds or in our waterways.

Closed Yard

This marina is a full service marina and outside subcontractors are prohibited unless hired by Long Lake Marina. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Docks and Pilings

Nothing is to be attached to pilings or docks. Boats must be safely tied to the dock with lines adequate for forecasted weather conditions. The marina reserves the right to remove a boat from a slip or dock at any time whenever the marina deems it necessary for safety or for maintenance.

Firearms/Drugs

The use, display or possession of firearms, air guns, paintball guns, fireworks (including sparklers), explosives, weapons and illegal drugs or substances is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule will result in immediate eviction and appropriate authorities will be notified.

Gray Water/Overboard Discharge

State law prohibits the discharge of gray water/black water being dumped overboard into the water or into the ground. Insurance: All vessels moored in the marina are required to provide liability insurance against damage to persons or property. Owners shall furnish appropriate evidence that insurance is up-to-date and in effect.

Keys

Long Lake Marina requires all slip customers to leave a spare set of vessel keys with the office to be used in the event of an emergency.

Loss and Damage Exclusion

Long Lake Marina will not be responsible for loss or damage to vessels in the marina. Vessel owners shall be responsible for damage to any other vessel in the marina and for damage to any common areas or facilities including to docks, pilings, piers and bulkheads.

Marina Property

No alterations of any kind should be made to Long Lake Marina property without prior approval.

No Wake

All vessels under operation beyond 200 feet of the outermost extremities of the docks, shall adhere to a NO WAKE RULE.

Pets

Pets are welcome when attended, leashed and picked-up after. There is a maximum of two (2) pets per tenant allowed on the premises at any time. Visitors and guest may not bring pets to the marina. NO PETS on rentals.

Portable Gas Tanks/Containers

No portable gas or diesel containers shall be allowed at the docks. This is considered a potential fire and spill hazard and is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited Acts

Swimming, fishing, or diving is strictly prohibited from marina docks. The tossing, throwing of rocks, stones or other objects is also prohibited. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are from 11 PM to 8 AM. Please refrain from loud noises and disturbances during this time.

Sale of Boats

Management does not allow the display of any signs or advertising on marina property. Private sale of boats is not allowed. Long Lake Marina can list your boat for sale. Slip space cannot be sold by customers and cannot be subleased. NO EXCEPTIONS. Selling or removing boats does not void slip contracts. Contract is valid for the complete season. Customers are responsible for any remaining payments and Long Lake Marina will find a new occupant from the waitlist for the remainder of the season.

Slips

Boat owners are responsible for keeping docks adjacent to their berth clean and free of obstructions at all times. Cables, lines and hoses are to be coiled and out the walking path when not in use. Subleasing of a slip by a boat owner is not allowed. Burning or use of gas grills or cooking devices on docks is prohibited.

Trash

Disposal of trash from outside sources is prohibited. Disposal of any empty fuel containers, engine oil, solvents, hazardous chemicals, etc. in any dumpster or anywhere on Long Lake Marina property is strictly prohibited. If you have to dispose of any of these items, please inquire in the office for assistance.

Vehicles/Speed Limit

A maximum of two (2) registered vehicles is allowed per tenant to park in the Marina parking lot. A maximum speed of 5 miles per hour throughout the marina will be enforced for all vehicles. Safety is our top concern. Marina vehicles moving boats have the right of way.

Failure of Long Lake Marina or its employees to enforce any of the terms and conditions herein is not and shall not be considered to be a waiver of such terms or conditions in the absence of an expressed written waiver by the marina.

These Marina Rules are referenced in the slip contracts and storage agreements. Long Lake Marina reserves the right to amend, edit, or make deletions from these Marina Rules as deemed necessary. Marina customers will be notified if significant changes are created. We recommend that customers review our Marina Rules regularly. They will be posted in the marina office and on the Long Lake Marina website.

Fueling of Boats

Self fueling of vessels is prohibited in the marina. All vessels will be fueled at the fuel dock. No portable fuel cans or tanks on any kid are all wed on marina property unless approved by the manager, managers decisions are final.

Boating Education Course

The State of Maine requires by law that person born on or after January 1, 1999, may not operate a motorboat greater than twenty-five (25) horsepower for recreational boating purposes on inland waters of this State or territorial waters, unless that person is 12 years of age or older and has completed a boater safety and education course. These persons must possess and present a boater safety and education course certificate for inspection upon request to a law enforcement officer. A person born after January 1, 1999 is also required to complete a boater safety and education course and be at least 16 years of age to operate a personal watercraft

(such as a jet ski) on inland waters and territorial waters of the State or to supervise a person under 12 years of age who is operating a motorboat.
